Mendenhall Glacier lies just 12 miles outside Alaska's capital city, Juneau. The frozen lake at the foot of the glacier is a popular destination for Nordic skating. Sometimes there's an inch or two of snow on top of the ice, but it doesn't stop the skaters ... or their dogs!
