Westchester Lagoon has one of the longest ice skating trails in the US. All winter long, the City of Anchorage plows off the snow and spreads hot water to smooth out the surface. There's a skating party every Saturday afternoon with a bonfire, food and refreshments. On a typical weekend day you'll see a large contingent of Nordic skaters,
plus hundreds of figure and hockey skaters.
